Tom Riley ‘56 and his wife Barbara Kelley received the Joe U. Posner Founders Award given by the Rochester Area Community Foundation. The award recognizes the contributions of philanthropists whose giving has inspired others while strengthening the Greater Rochester-Finger Lakes region. Tony Iacovangelo ’59 shot his first hole-in- one on the 12th hole at Brook-Lea Country Club! Tony Cedolini ’60 wrote a new book entitled The Classroom of Life. Check it out on Amazon! Charles Schiano ‘62 , former Lancers owner, was presented with a 1970 North American Soccer League title championship ring. Fifty- one years after winning the North American Soccer League title, Schiano was honored by the modern version of the Rochester Lancers. Mike Deninger, PhD ’64 recently published a book, Multichannel Eye Movement Integration: The Brain Science Path to Easy and Effective PTSD Treatment. Mike has specialized in the treatment of PTSD for the last 20 years and this book is the culmination of 10 years of research and development into the effectiveness of PTSD therapies. The book is available for purchase on Amazon! JimMurrer ’64 retired from PriceWaterhouse Cooper and Nixon Peabody. He has two children and five grandchildren and is proud to announce his oldest granddaughter graduated in 2021 from Notre Dame. Bob Gibbons ‘65 co-authored the book Notre Dame Class of 1969, which is a collection of stories and updates from the 1969 graduating class of the University of Notre Dame. The book memorializes classmates’ recollections of their undergraduate years on the occasion of the class’s 50th anniversary. Michael Naughton ‘75 , Professor of Physics at Boston College, received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to Ireland. Naughton will conduct research with colleagues at Trinity College Dublin’s AMBER Centre (Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research), in support of projects on bioelectronics and nanostructured photovoltaics using a perovskite mineral compound. Congratulations to Joseph O’Donnell ‘8 0, president of Greater Living Architecture, which was named The Daily Record and The Rochester Business Journal’s 2021 Excellence in Construction & Real Estate honoree for Architecture. The award celebrates individuals and companies who are leading the Rochester region in design, construction, project management, innovation and more. James Tacci, M.D., J.D. ‘81 received the American College of Preventative Medicine 2021 President’s Award. He is the Medical Director and Executive Medical Policy Director for the NewYork StateWorkers’ Compensation Board. He also holds a part- time teaching and clinical appointment at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he serves as the Program Director for the Preventive Medicine Residency and Medical Director of the Travel Medicine Program. Todd Battaglia ‘82 was selected by Forbes/Shook to the Top 250Wealth Advisors in America list for the fifth consecutive year. Todd is president and CEO of MG&AWealth. Dr. Paul Buechel ’83 published his second book entitled Trailblazer. The book lays out how we must step up, step in, and act, in order to achieve the life were meant to live, the one which provides maximal benefit for ourselves as well as others in this crazy world of ours. Set in and around Rochester in 1986, the story follows Frank Stephens after his discovery of a collection of songs composed by his father for an unknown person - Clara. His search for the truth uncovers secrets and promises, which causes him to reconsider everything he once believed to be true – about his life, his parents, and his future. His book is available on Amazon. Patrick Hartman ’85 completed the Santa Barbara, California Triathlon alongside his 24-year-old son, Austin. The race consisted of a one-mile swim, 35-mile bike ride, and ten-mile run. Patrick came in first place in his age group! Jacqueline M. Thomas ’85 , attorney at Lacy Katzen LLP, was recently recognized by Best Lawyers® as the 2022 “Lawyer of the Year” for Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice Law. Derek Annechino ‘89 , head coach of the Aquinas varsity football team, was selected by the Buffalo Bills as one of 32 nominees for the 2021 Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award. 7-time Ironman Paul Colucci ’89 qualified for the IRONMAN World Championship in KONA, Hawaii. Originally scheduled for October 2021, the event has been postponed until May 2022 and will now take place in St. George, Utah. ChristianValentino ‘91 was named a Leader in Law as part of The Rochester Business Journal and The Daily Record’s 2021 Legal Excellence Awards. He is a member attorney at the Law Offices of Pullano & Farrow PLLC. Elena (Iacovangelo) Cariola ’93 won the election for NewYork State Supreme Court Justice. She will serve the 7th Judicial District. Jason Mull ‘93 , VP Employee Benefits at Brown & Brown, was awarded the Volunteers of America Maude Booth Award. The award acknowledges generosity, kindness, dedication, and commitment to helping those in need. Joseph Piazza ‘93 was the 2021 ACF Northeast Region finalist for the Dr. L.J. Minor Chef Professionalism Award. The award honors culinarians who help elevate the status of chefs and cooks in the United States. Elizabeth (Johnston) Clark ‘95 was appointed president and CEO of IHRSA, The Global Health & Fitness Association. She previously led government relations and advocacy at the National Confectioners Association (NCA), the trade association for the $44 billion candy industry. She is the first female chief executive in IHRSA’s 40-year history.
